happy happy bday my dear friend

First of all happy birthday my friend and I wish you many more to come. I’m just glad to be invited to this blog and be able to leave you a little message. I have told you (and most people who will listen :)) the story of how one day I came across this blog named after a Steve Miller Song which I liked a lot, the song that is :). So I started reading this blog and following it and there were people like steevo, mirrorboy, AJCon and some others leaving this screwed up college kid comments on his life and agreeing with him about how shitty the world was treating him

This screwed up kid had some legal questions so I wrote him an email and introduced myself. To my surprise he responded. The response was written in a caring way and well it showed me the type of person I had just met. I emailed often after that and was happy to receive many replies. In those emails you gave me a sense of trust and acceptance that I will never forget. You could have ignored this old man but it’s not your way and ill always be thankful to you for your help and thoughts.

Well it’s a year later and still many of us are still here and there are many a new person who has been touched your story. The screwed up kid has become a man now living on own his own and supporting himself. He has come so far so fast it’s really amazing to go back and see how it occurred. But thru it all you have become a man, still facing hard challenges and maybe still stuck in the middle, but thru all of that you have achieved so much and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings you.

I have been fortunate enough to spend a couple of hours with you in the real world and well I thank you so much for that time it was one of the best nights I have spent on this earth. I know that sounds a bit over dramatic but to me you are one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. And without you I may have never have found all of this so thanks my friend.

I know you face hard and real challenges in life and you make me proud every day you are out their meeting them. I wish you had more of everything, money, time, friends and of course someone special to share it all with. But in time I know you will build your own life and your own successes. I just hope that you will blog about them when they occur because I know they will.

You are example to every person here and once again I am proud of you for standing up and living your own life. I know it’s hard but I hope the support you have here is helping you every day. I just wish I was saying this to you in a room full of people. I wish I had as much courage and fortitude as you do.

Keep going every day and I know you will find the life you dream of and don’t let anyone stop you my friend. You may stumble and have your setbacks, but that is where all the people who have come to care about you come in, lean on us when you need a wall. I’ll try to always be there for you as I know others will be too.

It amazing how you can come to trust and care about others you meet on this net but I know if not for you and the kind words you had for me one day about a year ago I would never had met all these other wonderful people, not mirroboy, nor K, not steevo or Seth, not jakee of Mr. HCI, nor Deadwing, James or tyler or blaine, blake, Torchy or Matt, jamesey, warwick, wolfi or on and on; the people who now help me get thru each day, so I thank you for that.

I also thank you for trusting me enough to meet with you one night at a hockey game. I will never forget that night as I met someone who I feel I owe a lot in this life and may never have a way to ever repay him. In closing know I think of you often and I’m so proud to be your friend.

I know I havent been around much recently... but I just wanted to pop my head back in to wish you a VERY VERY VERY happy birthday!!! I really hope you have an amazing and wonderful birthday. You are a really special guy and you deserve NOTHING less...

You were one of the first few bloggers who I talked to and you really have helped me out more than you can imagine... you were and still are a true friend to someone you really didnt know... and I love you so much for that.

I know that recently a lot of things havent gone your way... but you are a very strong guy and I know you will pull through it and every single one of your dreams will come true.

I’m sorry that I don’t know you half as well as I would like, but I do know a few things...

• You have the drive to get it.
• You’re far stronger than most people I know.

When you combine these, it’s easy to see you’ll achieve anything you set your mind to and take it further than anyone else I know. You’re actually much more successful than you may think.
